Grit Tip #1 comes from the fantastic book Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkman.
Decide on your three top tasks, and then stick with each until you either complete it or delete it.
Here’s what mine looks like today:
Tree to_do’s:
Note: “tree” is swapped for “three" because of GritGrow and all. Plus it sounds like Nassim Taleb’s character, Fat Tony, from my home state of New Jersey.
Typical to_do lists tend to become unruly and priorities get out of wack.
The three task trick is simple and solves for the paradox of choice. By intentionally deciding and putting those decisions on paper, a mental force is directed at accomplishing what matters most. Only after completing or deleting a task should a new item be added.
Give it a try & tweet me what Grit Tips work well for you =]
